1) Trompe l'oeil -a french term literally meaning "trick the eye"[tromper-to deceieve & l'oeil-eye]. It is a style or technique of art which gives three-dimensional appearance in the picture by creating "optical illusion" with the involvement of " extremely realistic imegery".

This techniques flourished since Renaiassance period (roughly 14th-17th centuary) onward. The discovery of linear perspective in fifteenth centuary Italy and the advancement of the science of optics in seventeenth centuary Netherlands provided the artists the unique opportunity of renderring object and spaces with eye-fooling exactitude.

There is an ancient Greek story, depicted the contest rival between two artists,Zeuxis& Parrhasius for painting a picture with the more perfect illusion of the real world.Zeuxis painted grapes so natural that the bird flew down to pick at them but Parrhasius brought his picture covered with cloth. When Zeuxis approached to uncover the picture, he realized that he had lost because the piece of cloth was the picture itself.

Example :Escaping Criticism by Pere Borrell del Caso (1874)

2) Anamorphosis(Ana-morphosis)-the Greek word meaning "Formed again" which is a distorted projection that requires viewers to use special device or occupy a specific point to reconstitute the image. This also flourished 15th-17th centuary. The renaiassance artists like Leonardo da Vinci were mastering the 3-D and discovering slant anamorphosis. The Ambassadors of Hans Holbein the Yonger  is an earliest example of such art.

3) Mural is the painting on a wall, ceiling or large permanent surface. Those were  found in the prehistoric time such as painting  on the caves of Lascaux in the southern France but it became famous with the Maxican Muralisa art movement.
